Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960–1985
Organizing curator
Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960–1985 was the first exhibition to explore the groundbreaking contributions to contemporary art of Latin American and Latina women artists during a period of extraordinary conceptual and aesthetic experimentation, and fortitude in the face of patriarchal and geopolitical violence, featuring 123 artists from 15 countries.
It was organized by the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, as part of Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, and curated by Cecilia Fajardo-Hill and Andrea Giunta with Marcela Guerrero. The Brooklyn presentation was organized by Carmen Hermo and Catherine Morris (Sackler Senior Curator, Brooklyn Museum), and expanded to include work by Sophie Rivera, Ester Hernández, Sara Gómez, and Marta Moreno Vega.
